( Reuters) – The United Nations Security Council on Friday turned down a U.S. bid to extend an arms embargo on Iran, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated in a declaration.
The Security Council “turned down a sensible resolution to extend the 13- years of age arms embargo on Iran and led the way for the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism to purchase and offer traditional weapons without specific UN restrictions in location for the very first time in over a years,” he said.
