GENEVA (Reuters) – The United Nations human rights chief Michelle Bachelet on Wednesday condemned using violence by Belarusian authorities to serene protests after President Alexander Lukashenko claimed a landslide victory in Sunday’s election.
Bachelet stated police were reported to have actually utilized excessive force, firing rubber bullets, utilizing water cannons and throwing stun grenades.
