GENEVA (Reuters) – The United Nations human rights chief stated on Monday her workplace was receiving “disconcerting reports” of the continuous violent repression of peaceful presentations in Belarus.
” Reports continue to indicate unneeded or extreme use of force by police officials,” U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet informed a council conference in Geneva where an urgent dispute on Belarus is prepared.
She said there had been “restricted proof” of any steps by Belarus authorities to resolve reports of human rights violations.
