UNITED COUNTRIES (Reuters) – U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres contacted all celebrations in northeast Syria to work out optimum restraint, his spokesman stated on Monday after the United States began pulling troops back from the location, opening the method for a Turkish strike on Kurdish-led forces long allied to Washington.
” It’s extremely important all celebrations exercise optimal restraint at this time,” U.N. spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters.
” The Secretary-General also emphasizes that civilian and civilian facilities requirement to be protected at all times which sustained, unobstructed and safe humanitarian access to civilians in need should be guaranteed,” he stated.
