UNITED COUNTRIES (Reuters) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned on Monday that “geopolitical tensions are at their greatest level this century” and gotten in touch with world leaders to stop escalating stress, exercise maximum restraint and re-start discussion.
Without calling any nations, Guterres told press reporters: “This cauldron of stress is leading increasingly more countries to take unpredicted choices with unpredictable repercussions and a profound threat of miscalculation.”
His warning came after the United States killed Iran’s most prominent basic Qassem Soleimani on Friday, deepening a crisis that has actually heightened fears of a significant Middle East conflagration.
