ANKARA (Reuters) – Turkey sent out a diplomatic note to Syria’s consulate in Istanbul to notify Damascus about its cross-border operation into northeast Syria, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday shortly after Ankara introduced the offensive.
Speaking to press reporters in Algeria, Cavusoglu stated Turkey’s operation was based upon its rights connected to international law and added that Ankara had informed all the essential stars, consisting of the United Nations and NATO.
