Terebea Williams was sentenced to 84 years-to-life in jail after she was founded guilty in 2001 of first-degree murder, use of a gun, carjacking, and kidnapping in the killing of 23- year-old Kevin “John” Ruska Jr.
Williams shot Ruska in the abdomen after holding him at gunpoint and pushing him into the trunk of a car. His body was found connected to a chair in a Davis, Calif. motel space.

Love stated California authorities “need to be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to happen, that the rights of the prisoners are more vital than the rights of the victims and the victims’ families,” Love said. “And it’s definitely shameful that this is being permitted to occur.”
In a statement to KOVR-TV, the Yolo County District Lawyer’s workplace stated it was “confident that there will be a more well balanced approach to prisoner releases that deals with the needs to alleviate the spread of COVID.”
