A congressional prospect who is challenging Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., declared the leading Democrat is losing time and taxpayer cash on impeachment while California struggles with increasing crime and homelessness.
” Homelessness is up 75 percent considering that he became our congressman, and the fact that he’s pursuing this impeachment while we have the astronomical numbers– criminal offense is up and rape up in the city of L.A.; assaults, arson– it’s really unspeakable what’s taking place,” Jennifer Barbosa told ” Fox & Pals” on Monday.
Schiff’s 28 th congressional district has seen a 12 percent spike in homelessness over the in 2015, with 59,000 homeless individuals now living in Los Angeles County, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Advancement. And 75.2 percent of those homeless people are unsheltered and without refuge.
” That’s the issue, Schiff has actually done nothing to combat the numbers,” stated Barbosa, who is running as an independent.
Barbosa faces an uphill battle in her effort to uproot Schiff, as California’s 28 th district has 49.6 percent voters registered as Democrat and 16.5 percent are signed up as Republican. The remaining with no party affiliation is 29.4 percent.
Barbosa said that her project will not depend on Republican voters and will look for to galvanize independents by merely “door-knocking.” She said Republicans have not made the case to citizens in the Burbank-area district, and the state is “lagging” in regards to job development compared to the booming national numbers
” If Schiff would put aside the impeachment thing for enough time to get USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Arrangement) passed, that would help our district significantly,” she stated, describing the trade offer that is waiting for House action.
