A California male who served in the Militaries has been charged with murder in the October slaying of a 16- year-old woman he satisfied through social media.
Codi Slayton, 19, was detained Thursday in the killing of Josephine Jimenez, whose body was discovered in a field in Madera County 10 days after she was reported missing out on by her parents, authorities stated.
Detectives stated the victim had conversations with Slayton prior to she disappeared, according to news reports.
” This appears to be something more along the line of online predator, so my guess is in some way he had an approach to contact her– as the majority of predators do– struck up some type of discussion and then the resulting criminal activity took place eventually after that,” Madera County Constable Jay Varney told reporters Thursday, according to KFSN-TV

Varney’s workplace said in a news release that Slayton had actually used social media to get in touch with other young ladies in California and “potentially other regions of the United States.”
Jimenez’s mother stated in a statement that the family was looking forward “to justice for Josephine,” Fox 26 Fresno reported.
