An Israeli university student says she underwent a “disturbing,” foul-mouthed anti-Semitic tirade and was physically assaulted on a New York City subway recently by a guest who got annoyed after she was asked to move her bags.

” It makes me feel very embarrassed and unfortunate that anti-Semitism still exists,” Lihi Aharon, who immigrated to the United States from a village beyond Tel Aviv in 2013, told Fox News.

She added: ” It’s troubling and it’s frightening to believe that our world is going in that instructions. We should stop this.”

The New York City Cops Department informed Fox News the incident happened on the southbound 2 train near Wall Street in New York City on Thursday night around 11:15

Aharon said she experienced the lady, who police determined as Zarinah Ali, 38, as she got on the subway on her method home to Brooklyn after an induction event at her school, The District of Manhattan Neighborhood College.

Aharon informed Fox News she had actually asked Ali to move her things because she was occupying three seats on a “full” train, however she declined. Aharon stated a seat ended up being available across from Ali, so she took a seat.

Aharon said she instantly got her phone and some of the comments were captured on video.

In the video, Ali can be heard spouting expressions consisting of, ” You f– in nasty a– Jews” and “You stinking a– Jew.”

” After a few minutes she stood up and smacked my phone, she came over and smacked my phone down, and I informed my friend, ‘Tape this,’ I’m telling her in Hebrew,’ Tape this’ and my pal began recording and after that she smacked my pal’s phone out of her hands two times,” Aharon told Fox News.

” Then she came to me, she went to me and pointed on my face and after that she was grabbing my face, like she was trying to pull my face off and she scratched me so hard and my face began bleeding.”

Aharon stated she struck the emergency situation button on the train and asked individuals to call911

She informed Fox News that after Ali was jailed, she kept shouting similar expressions, “a great deal of profanities, truly revolting words.”

Aharon said she needed medical attention for the “very deep cut” on her face, however did not require stitches.

Aharon said after Ali, who cops said is from South Orange, N.J., was detained, the Jewish male who had been sitting beside her told her that she was shouting at him prior to Aharon got on the train, stating negative remarks about Jewish individuals and the shooting that unfolded at a kosher market in Jersey City, N.J., recently.

Six individuals were eliminated in that shooting– 4 victims, consisting of an authorities officer, and the two suspects.

” I feel like lately anti-Semitism is raising its ugly head all over the world, not simply New york city. Me, as a trainee, I see it on college campuses all the time,” Aharon informed Fox News.

Ali has been charged with attack, according to the NYPD.

When asked if Ali will likewise be charged with a hate crime, a spokeswoman with the Manhattan District Lawyer’s Office informed Fox News they can not talk about pending cases.

Aharon’s lawyer, Ziporah Reich, told Fox News that she will be accompanying Aharon to her upcoming consultation with the hate criminal offense assistant district attorney.

” We have self-confidence that as soon as the District Lawyer’s workplace gets all the truths and finishes its examination, it will prosecute this criminal offense as the hate crime it is,” said Reich, who is with the Lawfare Job, a Jewish civil liberties advocacy group that offers legal assistance to members of the Jewish community who have been targeted because of their faith.
