Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo, pledged Monday he will not vote to impeach President Trump in a Senate trial, claiming House Democrats have failed to even charge a crime against the president.
” Your house impeachment short articles are a joke, Laura, as you mentioned. They don’t even charge a criminal offense,” he informed Laura Ingraham on ” The Ingraham Angle.”
” Let’s remember what an impeachment is. [It’s] like an indictment and then it pertains to the Senate for a trial. If you had the proof for a crime, they would have charged the crime and put it in the posts of impeachment. They didn’t because they do not have anything. This entire thing is a joke and it’s time to get the president exonerated,” he continued.

Hawley was inquired about Home Democrat Zoe Lofgren, of California, expressing her issue that Senate Republicans appear poised to “rig” the upcoming trial.
Lofgren was asked on MSNBC Sunday what she anticipates to happen when the Senate trial starts, offered current remarks by Senate Bulk Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

Hawley responded that Republicans’ opposition to impeachment is based on the lack of proof put forth by the Home of an impeachable offense.
