A conflict in downtown Portland on Monday night led to one lady stabbing another at the website of nightly racial justice presentations, according to authorities.
Portland Authorities stated the victim is being treated at a medical facility for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect left the scene prior to returning and is now being interviewed by authorities.
The female suspect had actually entered Lownsdale Square Park around 6: 20 p.m., which is situated throughout from Portland’s Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse. ” I told you not to f– with us,” a male was also heard stating as he and the victim challenged the alleged stabber.
Another video that was taken by an activist named Crystal Kalashnikov supposedly showed the suspect being apprehended outside police headquarters, The Oregonian reported. Authorities have yet to validate if the suspect had been apprehended.
Kalashnikov said the encounter started when the female approached a group of protesters and attempted to upset individuals at the scene, according to the paper She stated the suspect attempted to leave before returning and stabbing the victim.
Police stated when they were protecting the crime scene, someone chose the up the knife and “ran off with it.” Officers would later leave the scene after experiencing a ” hostile crowd” while attempting to examine the criminal offense, authorities stated.
” Officers were unable to securely carry out an investigation due to the hostile crowd, and managers made the choice to disengage,” authorities stated.
