California private investigators on Monday announced the arrest of a man who had actually gotten away to Mexico after supposedly raping a 16- year-old lady in 2002.
Juan Martinez Lopes, 39, was apprehended last month and charged with rape and kidnapping, according to the Sonoma County Constable’s Workplace, which called the crime a random act.
Lopes was implicated of raping the woman in a field in Santa Rosa and then raping her once again when he caught her after she broke totally free and attempted to escape, Sgt. Juan Valencia stated.

Lopes then removed to Mexico and a warrant was provided for his arrest, the sergeant said.
The case went cold up until last month when Lopes was chosen up for public intoxication in Madera County, according to Valencia.
” Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Detectives got a search warrant for Lopes’ DNA and drove to Madera County to collect a sample of Lopes’ DNA as proof,” he said.
Valencia said the proof acquired from the victim’s forensic examination linked Lopes to the criminal activity.
