The mishandled hit job started in 2013 when realty businessman Qin Youhui allegedly paid someone $280,000 to kill a businessman named Wei, who was suing Qin, according to The Guardian
The hired hit man rather pocketed half of the cash and employed someone else to perform the murder. The task was then contracted out 3 more times– with the pot of cash decreasing each time– up until a fifth guy, Ling Xiansi, was used $14,000 to eliminate Wei in 2014.
Instead of eliminating Wei, Ling wrote him a note asking him to satisfy at a cafe.
” For just 100,000 yuan, I don’t wish to eliminate you, but you need to comply with me,” he stated, according to the British publication.
Six Chinese defendants were just recently imprisoned for their roles in a messed up hit task that was subcontracted out several times.

The pair staged Wei’s death and took images of him gagged and bound. Wei disappeared for around 10 days and then went to the authorities, the Nanning Intermediate People’s Court said on its site
Qin and the contract killers were brought to trial in 2016 but acquitted, a rarity for a country with a 99.9 percent conviction rate, the Guardian said.
District attorneys appealed and the second trial lasted 3 years. The men were given sentences varying from two years and 7 months to 5 years in prison.
In a statement, the court said the guys intentionally deprived ” others of their livelihood, with actions that made up the crime of intentional murder.”
