The 39 individuals who were found dead inside the back of a semi-truck near an English port were recognized Thursday as being Chinese residents, British police confirmed.

Essex Police said 31 guys and 8 females were discovered dead inside the truck container Wednesday at the Waterglade Industrial Park in Grays, a town about 25 miles east of London.

Additional information about the victims were not launched, though authorities stated the one victim previously believed to be a teenager was rather a young person woman.

” Each of the 39 people must go through a full coroner’s procedure to develop a cause of death, before we move on to attempting to recognize each individual within the trailer,” Essex cops said in a declaration on its website “This will be a significant operation and, at this stage, we can not approximate the length of time these procedures will take.”
