TORONTO – BlackBerry Ltd. is partnering with startup OnwardMobility for a new 5G version of the mobile phone with the physical keyboard and improved security that once made the Waterloo, Ont. company’s devices common.
The strategies were revealed collectively Wednesday by BlackBerry along with the Austin, Texas-based OnwardMobility and by FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Taipei-based Foxconn that has actually been Apple Inc.’s main iPhone maker for several years. The devices will be offered next year, the companies stated.
