from the rise-of-the-machines dept.

Gartner research study has actually revealed 10 “strategic technology trends that will drive significant disruption and opportunity over the next 5 to 10 years.” And the trends include “hyperautomation”– using innovative technologies like AI and artificial intelligence to jobs “that when required people,” integrating robotic process automation with smart business management software application to offer “real-time, continuous intelligence about the organization … with an objective of significantly AI-driven choice making.”

They also forecast “self-governing things,” including drones, devices, robotics, and even ships, in some cases working in collective swarms, that “exploit AI to perform tasks normally done by humans.” Pattern # 6 is “the empowered edge,” where IoT devices end up being the foundation for “smart areas” that move services and applications closer to where they’re really used, producing a world of smart buildings and city areas. Plus, they’re also anticipating a movement from central public clouds to distributed public clouds which enable information centers to be located anywhere. (” This solves both technical issues like latency and also regulative challenges like data sovereignty.”)

Trend #10 looks at the possibility of AI-enhanced security solutions– and AI-powered security dangers— in addition to the requirement to offer security for our new AI-powered systems. However they also visualize a pattern that “changes technology-literate individuals with people-literate technology” supplying advanced “multiexperiences” though “multisensory and multitouchpoint interfaces like wearables and advanced computer system sensors.” They even forecast “fully-scalable” blockchain by 2023, while likewise predicting its effect on the economy will be felt through integrations with “complementary technologies” like AI and IoT. (” For instance, a cars and truck would be able to negotiate insurance costs directly with the insurer based upon information collected by its sensors.”)

Trend # 3 is “Democratization of innovation” (or “person access”), a forecast that includes “AI-driven development” of data science designs for automated screening. And surprisingly, trend # 5 is openness and traceability:.

The evolution of technology is developing a trust crisis. As consumers end up being more knowledgeable about how their data is being gathered and used, organizations are likewise acknowledging the increasing liability of keeping and collecting the data. Furthermore, AI and ML are progressively utilized to make choices in location of human beings, developing the trust crisis and driving the need for concepts like explainable AI and AI governance.

This trend requires a focus on six crucial components of trust: Principles, integrity, openness, accountability, skills and consistency.

Pattern # 4 even predicts people will merge with technology. “[W] hat if researchers could enhance the brain to increase memory storage, or implant a chip to decipher neural patterns? What if exoskeletons ended up being a basic uniform for autoworkers, allowing them to raise superhuman weights? What if medical professionals could implant sensing units to track how drugs take a trip inside a body …?”

C is the best example of second-system impact given that OS/360
