Twitter tagged another video meme published by Trump with the “manipulated media” tag, even though the reality that the video is a parody is apparent. The meme video has actually been in blood circulation because September 2019, however was just tagged as “manipulated” when President Trump published it.

The video was created by Twitter user @CarpeDonktum, who is popular for creating parody videos that are regularly retweeted by President Trump. The video is plainly tagged with @CarpeDonktum’s handle, however Twitter decided to label it “controlled media” anyhow.

The video includes a parody CNN heading to a video of 2 young children playing in the street. The parody headline states “terrified todler runs from racist infant.”

A Twitter representative verified that the President’s tweet “has been identified per our synthetic and controlled media policy to provide individuals more context.”

Although the video has remained in blood circulation since September 2019, it was only when President Trump chose to tweet it that Twitter added the “manipulated media” tag. This suggests Twitter is holding the President to a different standard.

Twitter only reacted on background to a question about why the meme was just tagged as soon as Trump tweeted it. The business also declined to supply a list of other tweets that have been tagged with the “manipulated media” label because it was introduced.

As Breitbart News reported in March, Twitter formerly included a label to another video shared by President Trump, of Joe Biden fumbling his words at a rally:

The video retweeted by the president was initially posted by the White House director of social media Dan Scavino. The video used video footage taken throughout a speech by Democratic presidential prospect Joe Biden in which the former vice president fumbled his words and mentioned ” Excuse me. We can just re-elect Donald Trump,” prior to stopping briefly and adding “if in fact we get participated in this circular firing squad here. It’s got ta be a favorable project.”

A note at the bottom of Trump’s tweet links users to journalists complaining that the satirical clip is a “doctored” video.
