Politics President Trump announced on Twitter Saturday that the White House is reviewing the case of Army Green Beret Maj. Mathew Golsteyn, who is facing charges for killing a Taliban bombmaker in Afghanistan.
” The case of Significant Mathew Golsteyn is now under evaluation at the White Home. Mathew is an extremely embellished Green Beret who is being tried for eliminating a Taliban bombmaker. We train our boys to be killing devices, then prosecute them when they eliminate!” he tweeted.

Golsteyn was deployed to Afghanistan as a team leader for 3rd Unique Forces Group, which had an unit of Militaries released with it. 2 Militaries were killed and three more injured after a booby-trapped door took off.
Golsteyn’s group apprehended a male believed to be the bombmaker. The Army is accusing Golsteyn of taking the guy off-base, eliminating him, and conspiring to cover it up. His legal representative has actually called the story a “fantasy.”
Trump similarly intervened when it comes to Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher, who was accused of killing a teen Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighter. Trump attorney Marc Mukasey signed up with Gallagher’s defense group, who implicated Navy prosecutors of counting on hearsay and persuading statement versus Gallagher.
Throughout trial, the prosecution’s star witness confessed that he killed the ISIS teen, not Gallagher. Gallagher was found not guilty on all counts, except for one related to taking a photo with the ISIS teen’s remains.
