President Donald Trump and first woman Melania Trump hosted an occasion on Tuesday at the White Home to honor females acquiring the right to vote.

” The very first lady and I are thrilled to welcome the members of Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission to the White House to commemorate the 100 th anniversary of ladies securing the right to vote,” Trump said. “That’s something.”

” I wish to thank the commission members who have worked relentlessly for 3 years to tell the really powerful story of America’s suffrage and America’s suffrage movement,” Tump stated.

However the press reporters in the room were more interested in Trump reversing an Obama-era guideline that intended to require variety into rural areas in the guise of making every neighborhood accessible to people of all earnings.

In practice, that implied requiring neighborhoods in cities across America to permit the addition of multiple-unit and low-income real estate.

Trump tweeted about the his effort in addition to Housing and Urban Advancement Secretary Ben Carson:

The “rural homemaker” will be choosing me. They want security & are thrilled that I ended the long term program where low income real estate would invade their neighborhood. Biden would reinstall it, in a larger type, with Corey Booker in charge! @foxandfriends @MariaBartiromo

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 12, 2020

Democrats and other Trump critics claimed this effort is a “pet whistle” to terrify rural white females into voting for him in November.

” Trump is racist and sexist and believes he can use bigotry to motivate his supporters,” Josh Schwerin of Priorities USA Action, a political action committee that supports Democratic candidates, stated in a USA Today report previously the month. “Trump’s racism is one of the huge reasons citizens, including those in the suburban areas he believes he’s attempting to attract here, are prepared to get rid of him.”

A Reuters article claimed Trump does not actually comprehend the suburban areas and, therefore, can not attract citizens who live there:

[Suburbs] have actually ended up being more thick, more diverse and less fixated nuclear households. About 36%of the U.S. population now lives in a county that is categorized as a suburb under a rubric established by William Frey at the Brookings Institution, up from 33%in 2000.

Suburban counties still tend to be whiter than the rest of the country, while U.S. cities are more diverse

But the total racial makeup of the significant suburban counties is close to that of the nation as an entire, based on Frey’s category.

But based on Trump’s response to a reporter’s question on the topic, it seems this view of the president is incorrect.

” My concern is: When you speak to the rural housewives of America, what do you– what do you consider as the suburban lady citizen? Is the suburban lady citizen a suburban housewife, or is there more in your evaluation?” a reporter asked.

” It’s a very fair question,” Trump stated. “A fantastic concern, actually. Look, I view it extremely highly that the suburban voter, the rural housewife, women and guys residing in the residential areas– they want security and they want safety. They don’t wish to have a life time of striving and buying a home.” He went on to say:

And, by the way, 30 percent of individuals residing in suburbia are minority groups– African American, Hispanic American, Asian American. They’re minority groups. They don’t desire to have their American Dream satisfied and then have a low-income housing job developed best beside their house or in the community. They don’t want it. That’s not part of the deal. And I ended that.

And I think that the rural housewife, as you state, and I believe that females and males living in the suburbs who satisfied their American Dream or a minimum of got a big part of it, they now reside in a safe, gorgeous location. They do not want to have people can be found in and requiring low-income housing down their throats.

And you know what? People can say I’m an enemy for doing that, or they can say I’m a good individual. However I think that rural women very much appreciate what I did. I terminated it. This has actually been a hot concern for– prior to President Obama, but he took it to a brand-new level.

” And Biden is going to take it to yet another level. In truth, they say that Cory Booker– there’s another beauty– that Cory Booker is included. And if Cory Booker is included, nothing good is going to happen.”

” It’s really unjust to suburbia– males, women; partners, housewives– whatever you wish to say,” Trump. said. “It’s really unjust. And I think it’s an extremely essential concern, and I believe they regard quite what I did. And nobody else would have had the guts to do it.”
