Thursday on MSNBC, “All In,” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) stated President Donald Trump might not wipe away the history of his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hayes stated, “You have actually served in Congress for a long period of time. You have actually seen various congressional caucuses come and go, different management structures, various presidents. Does it strike you, I wonder how it strikes you to view Republicans who, throughout the Obama administration, particularly everything was austerity, where is the cash originating from? How are you going to spend for that? Today say hi, we got to fill up $250 billion, let’s have a vote on it today. A striking turn about it appears to me.”
Waters said, “Definitely due to the fact that they understand that not just are the people that Democrats care about, the least to these, people who work on minimum salaries, now what you have, you have businesses of all sizes that are being threatened by what is going on. So when you see the Fed roll out with the brand-new program that they refer to as, you understand, the program where they’re saying that it is targeted to mid-sized banks and bigger businesses along with the smaller sized businesses. They have a great deal of people who are being threatened by this pandemic that we’re experiencing. They better stand up for them because currently, history is recording every action that we make.”
She continued, “The president doesn’t look too good. He has actually confused individuals. He’s sent out the incorrect messages. He’s been offering guidance he need to not have provided. Now I believe that maybe they believe that they can clean away that history. I wish to tell you it’s going to remain recorded.”
She added, “We’re going to fight for whatever. Those Republicans who are getting in line and who are fighting with us comprehend it’s not simply people that they believe are undeserving that are getting assistance, it is all across this nation in all of our congressional districts, huge and small and middle-sized and all of that.”
