On this Sunday’s broadcast of “AM Pleasure” on MSNBC, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said Republicans legislators who continued to support President Donald Trump were “happy to harm our nation.”
Waters said, “The president is all about himself. Now, if you wish to know something, I am revolted with those spineless members of the Senate who do not have the guts to stand up for this nation. A number of them have actually specified themselves as patriotic. They’re not patriotic. They are spineless, and they’re not happy to step up and do what needs to be done in acknowledging the risk of this president. They are prepared to harm our nation.”
She continued, “I don’t know how they look their kids and their spouses, their neighborhood in the face concerning work in the United States Senate understanding what they know, seeing what they see. And I can’t envision how anyone who has had the nerve and the audacity to run for a United States Senate seat, and they can’t withstand this lying, unethical president.”
She added, “They do not should have to be chosen by anything and anybody and serve this country if they have that type of worry. If you have that sort of fear, you’re not an excellent agent. You do not understand what it takes to make great public policy. You do not stand up for the security of this country. And so I have no respect for any senator, any member of Congress, who is not going to put themselves on the line for this nation. And understand that our security is at stake.”
