Tuesday on CNN, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) stated President Donald Trump was turning the day-to-day coronavirus job force interview into “propaganda” as the pandemic death toll rises in the United States.
Host Anderson Cooper asked, “Do you enjoy the coronavirus– what are supposed to be the coronavirus task force briefings which have actually been hijacked by the president who will typically speak for as long as he desires, typically an hour or more, before speaking with researchers.”
Klobuchar said, “I’ve tried to watch them lots of times and specifically when we have the scientists or Dr. Fauci discussing the facts That is helpful however numerous times you get so mad when the president turned it into himself. He turns it into a propaganda piece about himself when people are passing away, when Wisconsin voters are standing in line with masks and trash can over themselves when you have actually got individuals all over this country wishing to stand at the bedside of their loved ones and nurses and doctors going to work not understanding if they’ll get the disease or not since they do not have the ideal devices.”
She added, “No, I don’t desire to see propaganda about him or him getting mad at the media or get mad at some small slight that he hated during the day. That is not what management is about. I believe Andrew Cuomo said it best when he said if you’re mad about what we’re doing right now, call me. It is on me. He understood as so many of the governors do that the buck stops here. The dollar stops here. That was Harry Truman’s stating, and this president said the buck stops anywhere however here. At the Republican convention, he is the one that said I alone can fix this.”
