Previous Vice President Joe Biden admitted that he was prepared to compromise numerous countless jobs to produce a greener economy on Thursday.
Biden was questioned by mediator Tim Alberta throughout the PBS/ Politico Democrat governmental argument on Thursday about his tidy energy proposals.
” As president, would you be ready to compromise a few of that development, even understanding possibly that it could displace thousands or hundreds of countless blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to the greener economy?” Alberta asked.
” The response is yes,” Biden stated. “The response is yes since the chance for those employees to transition to high paying tasks is genuine.”
Biden argued that the government could invest drastically in making homes more energy-efficient and produce batteries to store energy.
He argued that more federal government spending and regulations could help change the nation into a cleaner energy future.
” We shouldn’t construct another brand-new highway in America that doesn’t have charging stations on it,” he said.
Biden stated that Washington would need to discuss to workers losing their jobs about the shift.
” We have to make certain that we explain it to those people who are displaced that their skills are going to be required for the new chances,” he stated.
