On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” anchor Chris Wallace stated a “well-connected” Washington Republican told him that there is a 20%possibility Republican politicians will vote to eliminate President Donald Trump in an impeachment trial.
Wallace said, “I talked to a really well-connected Republican politician in Washington today, someone whose name you would know well, who says that if your home votes to impeach and it gets to a trial in the Senate, there’s now a 20 percent opportunity, he thinks– obviously that just an estimate– now a 20%possibility enough Republicans would vote with Democrats to impeach the president.”
Acting chief of personnel Mick Mulvaney said, “That’s just ridiculous.”
He continued, “The comment about the 20 percent is simply an individual who clearly does not know what they’re discussing.”
He added, “The president is extremely popular at house.”
