MALVERN, Pennsylvania– Vice President Mike Pence informed Breitbart News solely in Pennsylvania that U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s remarks earlier on Thursday dismissing vandals who destroyed a Christopher Columbus statue in Baltimore on July 4 were “unconscionable.”
Pence, who sat with Breitbart News for an exclusive interview on his and President Donald Trump’s campaign bus– Pence’s first campaign bus trip since before the coronavirus pandemic hit– revealed the outrage he felt when he saw Pelosi’s comments, just minutes before.
” Taking apart monoliths is not demonstrations,” Pence stated. “Burning churches is not complimentary speech. To have the Speaker of the Home tacitly affirm the guideline of the mob is unconscionable. For Speaker Nancy Pelosi to say ‘they will do what they will do’ is a surrender to the mob. We’re not going to have it. The American people understand the structure of our prosperity is order and the rule of law. We’re going to continue to stand strong for the rule of law against the rule of the mob.”
Earlier on Thursday, asked during her press conference about individuals who tore down a Christopher Columbus statue in Baltimore, Pelosi brushed issues aside.
” Individuals will do what they do,” Pelosi replied, when asked by a reporter if it would have been better to take the statue down through legal methods instead of having a mob tear it down.

Both Pence and previous Vice President Joe Biden– the presumptive 2020 Democrat candidate– remain in the Keystone State on Thursday doing a number of campaign stops. Pence previously in the day hosted a fundraiser with about 150 guests at a private house, raising per a campaign main $1 million.
Pence’s interview with Breitbart News came between the fundraising event and a later stop at Rajant Corporation in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
