On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “dazzling” for her handling of President Donald Trump impeachment.
When asked about Pelosi holding the short articles of impeachment, Engel said, “Well, at some time, I believe what Nancy has actually done is honestly been brilliant, because otherwise it would just be organisation as typical, no matter what was done or not done which’s definitely not beneficial for the American people. Look, I believe that Senator McConnell ought to recognize that he’s not a part of the defense trial, that he is a juror. His collusion with the White House is something that needs to be alarming to everyone. Particularly when we’re now getting all this feedback, coming back, showing really plainly that the president understood about it. It was his choice to do it. How much can you cover it up?”
He included, “Just four senators on the Republican side needed to accompany the Democrats, to continue the procedure. I believe that’s most likely to occur because Republican senators know that he or she is vulnerable, I do not think they’re going to wish to willingly belong to a coverup.”
