President Donald Trump traveled to Walter Reed health center on Saturday to begin his annual physical, according to the White Home.
” Expecting an extremely busy 2020, the President is benefiting from a totally free weekend here in Washington, DC, to start parts of his routine annual physical examination at Walter Reed,” White Home Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham stated in a declaration.
According to the White House, Trump had a fast medical exam and some laboratory work done as he had a free weekend.
” The President remains healthy and energetic without problems, as demonstrated by his repetitive vigorous rally performances in front of countless Americans several times a week,” Grisham said.
The unscheduled journey to Walter Reed prompted doubt from a few of the president’s critics on Twitter.
Earlier today on CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta said it’s “a bit curious” that Trump went to Walter Reed for an unannounced see. The W.H. said it was for a physical. Gupta questioned if the medical team had time to plan for his see. Did they understand he was coming ahead of time? (1/2)

Agree, something odd here about Trump’s “physical” today.
— not revealed
— not in his schedule
— didn’t take Marine One
— hasn’t been a year (last one was 02/19)All in contrast to previous Trump physicals. https://t.co/mkfKTOh3V0

Lots of speculation about this right now.
CNN reporting that the go to was not even on WH internal sked.
Generally a Walter Reed journey utilizes Marine 1.
And the most significant problem: The White Home lies about things huge and small, every day.
Statements have no credibility. https://t.co/Tc77 Oy1c0x

This does not build up; the White Home Medical System has really detailed centers at the White House complex that might easily accommodate the majority of what is needed in an annual physical. As a fmr USSS Representative assigned POTUS, I have actually never seen the yearly procedure happen in phases. https://t.co/32 KGdf8yXR

Grisham combated back against the reports on Twitter.
” Seems to be a lot more fun for people/some reporters to hypothesize & spread out irresponsible/dangerous rumors,” she composed on Twitter.
Seems to be a lot more fun for people/some press reporters to hypothesize & spread out irresponsible/dangerous rumors. He hung around w medical personnel & a military family after the examination … & I think the pool reported seeing him walk into the WH upon return … but details. https://t.co/mPcoOlogUI

Grisham also appeared on Fox News to describe the trip, ironically thanking CNN’s Brian Stelter for sharing the clip on Twitter.
EXACTLY! Thank you for helping me get the right details out. More speculation beyond the comprehensive & honest info I put out is wholly reckless & dangerous for the nation. https://t.co/gl6XOxgbmL

The president likewise shared information about the trip on Twitter, where he also visited a family of a soldier having significant surgery at Walter Reed Medical Center.
” Those are truly some of the very best physicians throughout the world,” Trump wrote.
Checked out a terrific family of a boy under significant surgical treatment at the fantastic Walter Reed Medical Center. Those are really some of the very best doctors anywhere in the world. Likewise began stage one of my yearly physical. Everything excellent (great!). Will finish next year.

Unscheduled governmental check outs to Walter Reed are not uncommon.
In December 2014, President Barack Obama made an unscheduled see to the healthcare facility for a “routine CT scan” for a sore throat.
