Throughout an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront” on Thursday, CNN factor and former Obama consultant Van Jones acknowledged Democrats were not in the finest of circumstances concerning their pursuit of the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
” Yeah, it’s interesting, you understand– it’s a challenging thing, the impeachment process due to the fact that for some Republicans it makes them wish to rally around the flag. when I was anti-Bill Clinton from the left in the ’90 s, and then they tried to impeach him, and unexpectedly Clinton was my finest pal,” Jones said. “I was like, ‘Leave Costs Clinton alone.’ So, I believe you get crosscurrents in this thing, and at the same time, the Democrats remain in a lose-lose scenario.”
” I f they don’t do something, their own base is going to feel dissatisfied and seem like possibly Trump gets away too much,” he continued. “If you don’t do the impeachment, however, you divide the country even more, you take the oxygen far from your candidates, and you still don’t fix the problem of interference. Simply since you impeach a president, it doesn’t suggest you do not still have the issue of foreign disturbance. It’s a huge mess.”
