Friday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) implicated President Donald Trump of “not increasing to this challenge,” while discussing his administration’s reaction to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mitchell stated, “Let’s speak about the horrible spike of deaths in New Jersey today, passing 3,000– the testing lack. Here you’ve got the mayor now– rather, the president informing mayors and guvs it’s up to you. The governors are in charge. Governors do not have access to tests. They can’t get tests from China the method the federal government can.”
Booker stated, “There’s an old wisdom that says you do not need to participate in every argument you’re welcomed to. This is a president who is not presuming his ethical authority that we really need him to do, not doing the levels of coordination and justifying of resources in our nation, not rising to this challenge. But as we learnt when he attempted to assume constitutional powers he does not have, guvs decide. I hope every single among them let’s science be their guide, the well being of their people be their guide and do the balance of what they have to do about what’s finest based upon realities and data for the locals of their states.”
