Wednesday throughout an interview with Laura Ingraham that aired on Fox News, Chief Law Officer William Barr revealed his displeasure in the partisan nature of criticisms leveled versus President Donald Trump for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Barr noted the media efforts to slam hydroxychloroquine, a drug touted by Trump throughout appearances with the coronavirus job force.
“[I] t’s very frustrating since I believe the president headed out at the start of this thing and really was statesmanlike, attempting to bring individuals together, dealing with all the guvs, keeping his perseverance as he got these snarky gotcha concerns from the White House media swimming pool,” Barr stated. “And the stridency of the partisan attacks on him has gotten higher and higher, and it’s actually frustrating to see. And the politicization of choices like hydroxychloroquine has been remarkable to me.”
” Before the president stated anything about it, there was reasonable and balanced protection of this really promising drug, and the truth that it had such a long performance history that the risks were pretty popular,” he continued. “And as soon as he stated something favorable about it, the media has been on a jihad to challenge the drug. It’s quite weird.”
