The Washington Post‘s food critic Tom Sietsema received some unexpected feedback on one of his recent restaurant reviews.
The entire thing started during a live chat with Sietsema on the Washington Post‘s website about the dining scene in DC. An anonymous woman alleged that a recent dining establishment review from Sietsema helped expose her hubby’s affair.
” Well Tom your latest evaluation is accompanied by an image of my partner dining with a lady who isn’t me!” the lady writes.
The lady claims that when she brought the picture to her partner’s attention, he then confessed to the relationship.
” As soon as confronted with photographic evidence, he confessed to having an ongoing affair. Simply thought you ‘d be entertained to hear of your part in the drama.”
Sietsema responded to the post, pleading the reader to inform him it was a “crank post.” He also noted that he’s unsure which evaluate triggered the drama.
” Please, please, please tell me this is a crank post. I ‘d hate to learn otherwise. I file two evaluations a week, for Food and the Publication, so I’m unsure which restaurant this is,” he wrote.
The female ended her remark thanking Sietsema for the evidence. “This Thanksgiving I’m grateful to you for exposing a cheat!”
Uh, Delighted Thanksgiving?
