Remember the raindrop cake? In 2016, a banner year for viral foods, the popular Japanese dessert delighted in a minute of fame in the States, but hasn’t been in the news much ever since. Luckily, Molly Baz is here to remedy that issue: She offers the notoriously complicated treat a try in a brand-new Bon Appétit video.
Baz actually does her research here, talking with a food scientist in addition to Darren Wong, the man who promoted the raindrop cake in the U.S. She ends up with a “visually stunning” PB&J- flavored production all her own, which appears to taste about as tasty as a raindrop cake can taste.
