Within the structure of electrodermography research studies used to cognitive archaeology, the Paleoneurology team of the Centro Nacional de Investigación sobre la Evolución Humana (CENIEH), led by Emiliano Bruner, has published a post in the American Journal of Human Biology on the impact of the anatomy of the hand on haptic (or tactile) perception while managing stone tools.
The results suggest that the measurements and proportions of the hand are not factors that straight affect emotional response throughout adjustment. The distinctions between males and females are because of biological or cultural factors, and not to differences in the hand size.
” In an earlier research study, it was observed that women have a more significant and variable psychological response than do men. In this case, the objective was to identify if it was the shapes and size of the hand that was responsible for this difference,” discussed Annapaola Fedato, matching author.
To achieve these results, the morphology of 62 subjects was determined while managing Lower Palaeolithic artifacts, in addition to the electro-mechanical reaction, which is utilized in forensics and neuromarketing with polygraphs to measure changes in levels of general emotion and attention.
Humans have different levels of haptic capacity, and these capabilities depend on different levels of learning and can be enhanced with training.
” At an evolutionary level, it deserves asking whether some biomechanical characteristics of the body or morphometric tools might have promoted a much better hand– object interaction by increasing the prosthetic capacity, not just at the ergonomic however also the perceptive,” concludes Fedato.
