Archaeology Abstract

Environment modification impacts island communities all over the world. Sea-level rise, an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather condition occasions, and modifications in distribution and health of marine organisms are amongst the most considerable procedures impacting island neighborhoods worldwide. On islands of the Caribbean and southwestern Indian Ocean (SWIO), however, today’s climate modification effects are magnified by historical environmental oppression and colonial traditions, which have increased the vulnerability of human and other biotic neighborhoods. For some islands, historical and paleoecological research offers a crucial record of precolonial environment change and its interaction with human lives and landscapes. The archaeological record recommends methods and systems that can inform discussions of resilience in the face of environment change. We information climate-related difficulties facing island Caribbean and SWIO communities utilizing archaeological and paleoecological proof for previous climate change and human action and argue that these can not be effectively addressed without an understanding of the procedures that have, gradually, interfered with incomes, improved land- and seascapes, threatened intergenerational eco-friendly understanding transfer, and resulted in increased inequality and climate vulnerability.
